Who: The Amberblacks
Where: Bethnal Green Pleasure Unit
When: Friday 9th June

Why: Because if it wasn’t enough that Pete And The Pirates are on the same
bill, The Amberblacks have a full arsenal of rock’n’pop tunes that draw on
inspirations from the likes of The Jam, The Who, The Beatles and The
Kinks.

We know what you’re thinking now. You’re thinking that it sounds like it’s all been done not just before but a hundred times before… and it has. But not this way. Last month’s Loud And Quiet saw these Essex lads grace our Making Waves pages and for good reason. Still creating an A&R
buzz before they settle on a deal, live, The Amberblacks are more crisp
than a winter’s morn when Jack Frost has been in town. Sloppy but smooth,
chaotic but controlled, loud but melodic, Bethnal Green’s Pleasure Unit
isn’t going to know what’s hit it come Friday night.

They may or may not want to be considered ‘the new Libertines’, whom
they’ve been compared to, but The Amberblacks certainly have the tunes to
create the same hysteria that Pete and Carl used to back in the day.
