Like Transparent Records, who’ve released this band’s hazy dream pop over here in the UK, we’re quite taken by Small Black; a four-piece who started as an attic project last summer.

They could have probably signed a deal to any number of labels but they’ve chosen the rather rad, Bloomington, Indiana-based Jagjaguwar – home to Women and Pink Mountaintops.

Jagjaguwar say: We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Small Black to the Jagjaguwar family. On April 26 we will release a remixed, remastered and expanded version of the Small Black EP. The EP will feature the original five songs as well as two new ones: “Kings of Animals” and “Baby Bird Pt. 2”. Small Black has also added two new permanent members, Juan Pieczanski on bass and Jeff Curtin on drums. The guys will be heading out on their first North American tour come March 6th, touring South By Southwest and dates with Washed Out and Pictureplane. The band just got home from writing and recording their debut full length, in Delaware, tentatively set for release later this year.

We say: THIS.
