South London quartet Fiction unofficially announced it in this month’s Loud And Quiet, and now news of their debut single being released on the newly formed Offset Recordings is concrete as their first ever 7″ is put on pre-sale by the long-awaited label arm of Offset Festival.
The band will release ‘Curiosity’ on May 10th and you can pre-order the single from www.offset.bigcartel.com.
Offset head Kieran Delaney has been toying with the idea of setting up a label to compliment his fully independent new wave/punk festival for some time now and coming across Fiction finally pushed him over the edge to step into the world of releasing limited records. So impressed with the bands’ post-punk bounce (which pulls in the sounds of Orange Juice and Talking Heads), he booked them to open the main stage on the Sunday of last year’s festival.
Tickets for this year’s festival are on sale now at offsetfestival.co.uk.
