It was only a matter of time before Animal Collective got their curating caps on for an ATP festival, and now it’s finally happened with the New Yorkers confirming that they’ll choose the lineup for the Minehead event next May.

It was only a matter of time before Animal Collective got their curating caps on for an ATP festival, and now it’s finally happened with the New Yorkers confirming that they’ll choose the lineup for the Minehead event next May.

In fact, the band have already confirmed the first wave of acts, ahead of tickets going on sale this Friday (Oct 29th 2010).

Of the band’s confirmed involvement, ATP boss Barry Hogan has said: “I always wondered what kind of mixtape Animal Collective would put together, so we are really stoked that they are climbing into the curating hot seat at Butlins next May where they will headline and curate the festival that includes the likes of Lee Scratch Perry and Gang Gang Dance from an already eclectic mix of 40+ acts.”

And the first announcements chosen by Animal Collective for the line-up are:
