On disbanding Test-Icicles (a day-glo brat punk trio that everyone loved except the band members themselves) Rory Attwell formed RAT:ATT:AGG and later Kasms before becoming London’s most wanted DIY producer. And now he’s turned his hand to a new solo project called Warm Brains.
‘Old Volcanoes’ is Attwell’s debut album under his new moniker, which will be released in February 2011 by Marshall Teller – the label founded and run by Attwell’s friends in the band Colours.
With the exception of a few guest vocals by Roxanne from Veronica Falls, Gemma from Trogons and Florence from Paradise, everything on the album has been play and recorded by Attwell himself, while the producer is set to rope in some special guests for a string of Warm Brains live performances, the first of which will be at Old Blue Last, London, on February 5th.
