Dean Chalkley is a photography responsible for – amongst other things – documenting The Horrors since their inception, and many other bands to come from his hometown on Southend-on-Sea. Recently him and his camera have been spinning around the talc-dusted floors of Northern Soul nights for a new exhibition called ‘Young Souls’.

It opens to public view tomorrow [Friday 22 July 2011] at The Youth Club Gallery, Kingley Court, London W1B 5PW, and runs until August 4. Entry is free.

The show also sees Chalkley venture into the world of film for the first time, as he wrote and directed a short about life as a Northern Souler.
