The two most powerful performers in hip-hop, Jay-Z and Kanye West, have announced a new joint collaboration called The Throne, with an debut album coming as early as August 8 2011, and a US tour shortly after that.

The pair leaked a track called ‘Otis’ late last week (named so due to its ‘Try A Little Tenderness’ Otis Redding sample), but it turns out that they’ve also been working on a full length debut album, called ‘Watch The Throne’, for the past year, recorded all over the place, from Bath to Abu Dhabi.

A tour supporting the release begins on September 22 in Detroit, and everyone who buys a ticket for it also gets a digital copy of the album for free.

Guests on the record include Frank Ocean, Beyoncé, Curtis Mayfield and (unfortunately) Mr. Hudson
