Charles Hayward’s name is hardly that of the household variety. Nor are his old band, This Heat, for that matter. But from 1976 to 1982, as part of that trio, he was responsible for making some of the most twisted, experimental music of the post punk movement, that’s gone on to influence everyone from Electricity in Their Homes to These New Puritans and Plug. Tomorrow night [25 August 2011], you can see it for yourself at the launch of a new London club-night called Mind Flowers.

Also playing live are psych troupe Bo Ningen, while S.C.U.M. and The History of Apple Pie will be supplying the recorded sound.
