When the Mercury Prize nominations were announced this year it was hardly surprising that PJ Harvey’s ‘Let England Shake’ made the short list. M People winning: that was a shock. But Harvey has been nominated three times before and won it once. What she has never done, though, is play London’s Royal Albert Hall, despite her and the Victorian concert hall being somewhat made for each other.

But Harvey has been nominated three times before and won it once. What she has never done, though, is play London’s Royal Albert Hall, despite her and the Victorian concert hall being somewhat made for each other.

On October 30 2011 she’ll put that right. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday [August 12] at www.gigsandtours.com, and if your in mainland Europe you can catch Harvey, by which time she’ll have either won her second Mercury Prize or Adele would have won her first.
