It was back in August ’09 that we first came across Louis Jones from Leeds, England. He’d just began making doo-wop inspired surf music under the name Spectrals. Since then he’s released a bunch of limited records for likes of Captured Tracks, Moshi Moshi and Underwater People, has grown his hair a lot and has toured with Best Coast (that’s him covering Blink 182 with the band below). But now, finally, he has signed a full deal, with Wichita Records.

Since then he’s released a bunch of limited records for likes of Captured Tracks, Moshi Moshi and Underwater People, has grown his hair a lot and has toured with Best Coast (that’s him covering Blink 182 with the band below). Still just 21-years old, Jones will release debut album ‘Bad Penny’ on the London indie that’s also home to Bloc Party, Simian Mobile Disco and Lovvers on October 17 2011.

It’s a record “just about love really,” say Louis of the record that documents his relationship with his high school sweetheart.

It’ll also be a record of completely new material.
