London punk trio Sex Beet have today [17 November 2011] released an album’s worth of their early material, digitally. The ‘Greatest Hits’ EP is 11 tracks long, made up of material previously only available on limited 7-inches and various cassette compilations. There’s a couple of unheard tracks on there too, and the odd Beach Boys tear-up.

Released on one EP now, these old tracks make way for the band’s debut album proper, which they’ll begin recording in January with garage guru King Khan in his Berlin-based studio. For tracks like ‘Nice Hair/Nice Titties’ it’s their one last hurrah, offering the group some closure whilst also helping to cover the band’s airfare to Germany, the price of ‘Greatest Hits’ currently standing at the vague sum of “a donation”.

“We would normally give this away for free, but we are totally fucking broke and need money to go record our first real album,” the band’s statement reads, “which is happening in January with King Khan, at his Moon Studios in Berlin. So feel free to donate as much as you can to the cause. We seriously appreciate it.”
