In a little over a week, the finest new bands will head south to Brighton for The Great Escape 2012. It’s not all about the official programme though, with plenty of fringe party planned, a la SXSW.

Amongst those that look set to be the wildest is Manchester By The Sea, laid on by three indie labels from the city and Salford, Akoustik Anarkhy, Melodic and Sways.

They’ve collected their bands and are taking over a dirty attic at the Pav Tav, with performances from Ghost Outfit, Plank!, Driver Drive Faster, The Longcut, Greatwaves, Michael A Grammar, Beat The Radar and The Louche, plus special guests and DJs. It’s going on until 3, and possible 6am, so if you’re by the sea May 11 – 13, check out all the info here.
