The second project of James Hoare of Veronica Falls and Max Claps, The Proper Ornaments made no bones about the kind of music they want to make together – Summer of Love 60s guitar pop, heavily inspired by The Byrds, Love and a re-imagined, happier Velvet Underground.

It might seem like an obvious recipe in the year 2013, but it’s one that worked so well when the band released their debut EP in 2011 that we interviewed the from Loud And Quiet 35.

Coming later this summer is the duo’s debut album, proceeded by this single release on the Summer Solstice (June 21).
