Galaxie 500 front man Dean Wareham to release solo mini album on Sonic Cathedral.

Dean Wareham, the front man of late 80s US dream pop band Galaxie 500, who went on to form indie group Luna, has announced his debut release as a solo musician after 25 years in the music business.

Wareham’s Galaxie 500 released three albums between their formation in 1987 and their 1991 split, leading the guitarist to form second band Luna, who stuck around until 2005. Since then Wareham has been working on solo material, which will get its first release in the form of a 6-track mini LP called ‘Emancipated Hearts’ on London label Sonic Cathedral, on 4 November 2013.

The record has been produced by Jason Quever, known for his own band Papercuts and for producing Cass McCombs and Beach House. The album will be available on CD and limited orange 10″ vinyl.
