The November 2013 edition of Loud And Quiet in stores now

For this month’s edition of Loud And Quiet – in stores 16 November 2013 – we caught up with Katy B ahead of her second album’s release, due early next year. It’s Katy (Kathleen Brien to her mum) who, in 2010, unwittingly paved the way for Jessie Ware, Disclosure and AlunaGeorge to make the UK pop charts a more credible place to be – now she just needs to decide how big she wants to go herself.

She’s joined by Cliff Martinez, the man best known for that incredible futuro-retro soundtrack to Drive, which was then followed by scores for Spring Breakers and Only God Forgives. It’s a re-issue of his decade-old, minimal masterpiece Solaris that got us talking to him, though.

Other interviews come from London DIY trio Shopping, lost project from 1982 T.R.A.S.E, Australia’s Courtney Barnett and post-everything rock band Teeth of The Sea.

We also went round to Lee Ranaldo‘s Tribeca apartment for a tour of his books, art and collectables.
