Featuring Metronomy, Slint, EMA, Lizzo, Daniel Miller and more

Back in 2008, when we started printing Loud And Quiet as a newspaper rather than the A5 magazine we’d started in 2005, it was Metronomy who we chose as our cover stars, then a trio that had just released second album ‘Nights Out’. This month we met with Joe Mount once again, to discuss everything that’s happened in the intervening 6 years. A lot, it turns out.

He’s joined by EMA, Minneapolis rapper Lizzo and Mexican psych band Lorelle Meets the Obsolete.

Mute Records Founder Daniel Miller becomes the second interviewee in our Record Heads series, Daniel Dylan Wray retells the story of SLINT with the aid of band guitarist David Pajo, 65Daysofstatic celebrate 10 years of forward-facing post rock and Field Music member David Brewis resurrects his School of Language solo project.

Plus, Mac DeMarco answers our new Getting To Know You questionnaire, and writer Jack Doherty spent a week listing to prog rock, which he hated.
