The September 2014 of Loud And Quiet is out this weekend (August 30th), featuring Death From Above 1979, Protomartyr, Vashti Bunyan, Peaking Lights, Sleaford Mods and more

The September 2014 edition of Loud And Quiet is a special one for us, as it’s the first that will be made available in airports London Heathrow and London Gatwick, as well as 40 more universities around the UK.

For it we met Death From Above 1979 for a special interview before their release new album ‘The Physical World’ next month, their second record, and eventual follow up to 2004 debut ‘You’re A Woman, I’m a Machine’.

LA neo-dub duo Peaking Lights gave us a tour of their Echo Park home studio, and also in Los Angeles Ian Roebuck interviewed Matador Records founder Chris Lombardi for our Record Head series.

We spoke with Nottingham spoken-word duo Sleaford Mods at Beacons Festival, decoded the austere work of Detroit post-punks Protomartyr on their first trip to the UK, introduce future RnB star Shura, and travelled to the Edinburgh home of cult (non)folk icon Vashti Bunyan, ahead of her third and quite possibly final album.

Plus, Perfume Genius completed our Getting To Know You questionnaire and Banks does the talking in our Tell Me About It feature.

There’s all the album and live reviews too, of course, and all yours for nothing from Saturday when it will be in our stockists and here on our Loud And Quiet Digital platform.
