Our October 2014 edition arrives in stores October 4th, featuring Goat’s first ever photo shoot, plus Kindness, Cooly G, Iceage, Suicideyear, Edwyn Collins and PIAS label boss Peter Thompson

Swedish psych band Goat have until now refused all requests to be photographed, so we’re very happy to say that our October 2014 issue features the group’s very first photo shoot, perhaps even their last. The above photo is one of many fantastic frames shot by the brilliant Andreas Ante Johansson, while writer Thomas May interviewed what we can only presume is the closest thing the group has to a figurehead, in Goat’s most extensive interview yet.

Elsewhere in Loud And Quiet 62, we met Kindness in Croatia and Iceage in Paris – two acts about to proved how uncompromising they are, with new records that you’re probably not expecting.

Closer to home, James F. Thompson gave Hyperdub’s Cooly G a house call and Ian Roebuck added to our Record Head series by paying a visit to the PIAS label, allowing boss Peter Thompson the opportunity to set straight exactly what it is that his company does, and how they do it.

Daniel Dylan Wray spoke with Edwyn Collin and his wife Grace Maxwell in the lead up to The Possibilities Are Endless – a new documentary about the former Orange Juice singer’s stroke recovery – and David Zammit introduces new Software Recordings artist Suicideyear.

There’s plenty more besides, and it’s all available for free from Saturday October 4th.

Pre-order a copy here, or go camp outside your nearest stockist.
