Following the announcement that The Strokes will headline Primavera Sound in 2015, Ride have been confirmed as the festival’s second band

Few festival bookings will make more sense in 2015 than Ride reforming to play Primavera Sound.

The announcement comes just a week after The Strokes were confirmed as the first act on the festival’s bill, and only a month since Andy Bell’s other concern, Beady Eye, decided to call it quits.

The inevitable Oasis reunion was looking more likely than ever, until everyone remembered that Noel Gallgher has a new solo album coming in March, and so thankfully it’s Bell’s other (first) band that are getting back together.

Following My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive (who reformed for Primavera Sound in 2014), Ride seem to be the one early ’90s shoegaze band that people genuinely want to see play again.

Primavera Sound takes place in Barcelona, at Parc del Forum, from 28 – 30 May 2015. Tickets are available here.
