Well, this is quite a bit of fun. Play Shinies £1 gumball machine at The Shacklewell Arms to win tracks and tickets

Manchester slacker pop band Shinies released their debut album, ‘Nothing Like Something Happens Anywhere’, this week via our good friends at Dirty Bingo Records.

Label and band – with the help of new ticketing app Dice (which offers tickets to music fans without charging them booking fees) – have installed a special gumball machine at London’s Shacklewell Arms, where the band will play an album launch show on February 13th.

The machine costs £1 to play, and each pod dispensed includes a ticket to the launch show, a piece of limited edition micro art with a download code for non-album track ‘Liqourice’ and an actual piece of liqourice. All players will also be entered into a raffle to win 10 vinyl packs – 5 containing each of the 12 records that Dirty Bingo has already released (including singles and EPs for Woman’s Hour, Novella and Clout!), and 5 containing all of Shinies previous 7″ singles, and their debut LP.

The machine will remain in the east London venue until February 13th. The band then plan to take it north with them, ahead of their Manchester launch show. Keep an eye on Dirty Bingo’s twitter stream to see where it will be installed in the city.
