Ex Beets man announces second album by posting an English and Spanish version of ‘She Might Get Shot’

Juan Wauters was born in Uruguay but left for New York some 10 years ago, where he formed garage band The Beets.

The group’s 2009 album ‘Spit On The Face Of People Who Don’t Want To Be Cool’ was the first LP to be released on the Captured Tracks label, and it’s on the Brooklyn imprint where Wauters has remained for his solo albums, the second of which is due in may, called ‘Who Me?’.

The first track to come from it – an album said to be inspired by Wauters adopted borough of Queens and particularly the hip-hop that’s come from there (although you’d never guess that from his mellow, Brian Wilson-esque musings) – is ‘She Might Get Shot’. Here’s the English version of it, although there is also a Spanish version out there too.
