We’ve just send Loud And Quiet 66 to print, featuring Father John Misty, Lightning Bolt, LoneLady, Ian MacKaye, Heems and more

In this month’s edition of Loud And Quiet (in stores from 28 March 2015), one of our album reviews has been awarded top marks. It’s not something that we do that often, but it is the second 10 we’ve awarded a record in this relatively young year. The first went to Father John Misty, for his second album, ‘I Love You, Honeybear’.

That record is the reason that FJM – or Josh Tillman – is on the cover of Loud And Quiet 66, along with his quick wit, fierce intellect and mad past.

He’s joined by Rhode Island noise duo Lightning Bolt, former Das Racist member Heems, one half of Fuck Buttons, Blanck Mass, and Manchester electronic loner LoneLady.

There’s also The Eccentronic Research Council (a Northern trio featuring actress Maxine Peake who’ve created a concept album-come-radio-play about a superfan stalker) and a very special interview with Ian MacKaye, who’s influence on DIY culture really can’t be overstated.

Art Brut singer Eddie Argos helps us continue to celebrate 10 year of Loud And Quiet by recounting his 2005, Tracey Thorn answers our Getting To Know You questionnaire, and Andrew Anderson launches a new film page about forgotten band movies, starting with Head by The Monkees.
