Check out a new track from the Manchester garage rock jokers.

Manchester’s Proto Idiot have been larking about with their lovable brand of lo-fi garage and glam rock for almost 10 years now. I mean, take a look at their picture, this is a band who don’t take themselves too seriously. In fact they describe their music as ‘quick and ever-so-slightly crappy’.

Andrew Anderson is the mind behind it. After putting releases out via Trouble in Mind, Slovenly and Oddbox Records, the three-piece have lined up a new album ‘For Dummies’ coming out in May.

Before that, York’s excellent Bad Paintings label are going to stick out a limited run (100 copies) of their two ‘Also Known As & His Colony Boys’ albums on cassette tape in February.

On the new album Anderson’s joined by drummer Callum Trent D’Arley and bassist Michael Floyd Seal. Top names, I’m sure you’ll agree.

Check out ‘Seventeen’ the first song from the new record, and you can see the spectacular artwork as well.
