If you read our recent feature interview with Christine And The Queens you’ll know about her intriguing back story. From home in Nantes Héloïse Letissier journeyed to London a number of years ago – and it turned out to be something of a trip of self-discovery. It’s where the singer met The Queens, at Soho drag club Madame JoJo’s, and found the self-confidence to embrace her voice and front her own group. Back home in France 2015 was a huge year for Letissier, but it’s only really now, with her debut album ‘Chaleur Humaine’ released worldwide, that the rest of the world is getting as excited.

With only a handful of live dates confirmed for 2016, on Tuesday (15 March) she returned to London to play at KOKO. With fans queueing outside the venue from early in the afternoon, the artistic performance featured a large video backdrop, choreographed dance routines and moody lighting.
