If you heard Anika back in 2010 you’ll remember her. Here’s a new track from her new band Exploded View.

We’ve missed Anika since 2010; we just needed reminding of it.

Back then, the politically minded ex-journalist released her self-titled album via Geoff Barrow’s Invada label. Her vocal was unmistakably Nico-ish, atop celebratory lo-fi retro dub arrangements produced by BEAK>.

So yeah, it was one of 2010’s best underground records, but since then, nothing.

Anika is back, though, fronting a new band: Exploded View formed in Mexico (Anika has a habit of living everywhere and nowhere, from the UK where she was born, to her mother’s homeland of Germany, to the United States where her music feels most at home, in its Euro-American ice-cold/NYC DIY style), and will release their self-titled debut on August 19th via Sacred Bones.

Here’s new track ‘Orlando’ as a taster.
