Featuring interviews with Car Seat Headrest, Air, Jessy Lanza, Shame, BADBADNOTGOOD and Exploded View.

As you may or may not know, Will Toledo’s bedroom rock project, Car Seat Headrest, has already released 12 albums over 6 years. He’s still just 24. Alex Wisgard shadowed him for a day to discuss, amongst other things, his most recent record, ‘Teens of Denial’, for our July/August cover feature.

We also put some of this issue together out at Primavera Sound, writing an A-Z Guide to this year’s festival, and hanging out with Air and Jessy Lanza. One of those acts is just getting started, while the other sounds as though they’re calling it day as they celebrated 20 years of unparalleled electro pop.

New bands Shame (from south London) and Exploded View (from Berlin and Mexico) are in there too, as are Toronto prog-jazz group BADBADNOTGOOD – their new album, ‘IV’, is a good example of why all your favourite rappers have gone jazzy recently.

Kathleen Hanna is this month’s Sweet 16 feature (being typically candid and honourable as she discusses a sad and dark period in her young life) and Erol Alkan answers our Getting To Know You questionnaire.

We also have a special End of The Road preview, who we’re happy to be working closely with this year, for the first time.

Pick up a copy from Saturday, when it will also be available online too.
