We gave Bobby Gillespie £25 to spend in a Camden record store. Watch him shop and explain what he bought and why.

A short time ago we launched a new video series: Bands Buy Records. Episode one featured New York’s Yeasayer, now the second instalment is here.

If you didn’t read about it at the time, here’s the full thinking behind the series. The summary? Well, from time to time we’re going to give a band £25 to spend on music. They’ve got to buy a minimum of three records which means it’s probably going to be a balancing act of bargain hunting, rarity finding and cash-splurging. Bands are NOT to spunk the full £25 on Radiohead’s latest LP, nor are they to buy a 99p copy of Ghostbusters, pocket the change and have lunch on us.

Watch below to see how the incomparable Bobby Gillespie from Primal Scream went about spending the cash.

Primal Scream’s latest album Chaosmosis is out now, and thanks to our hosts for the afternoon ‘Sounds That Swing’ records in Camden.
