The Australian sleaze-pop singer puts on a theatrical performance in the clip for his latest track.

If you haven’t journeyed into the surreal world of Alex Cameron yet, you’re in for a treat.

We spoke to the deadpan Australian songwriter for a feature earlier this year. It’s unsure how much truth he’s spun into his backstory, but there’s something about an artist who sets out rules for his interviewers (“no questions about Alex’s teeth”), has an ex city tram conductor called Roy as his saxophonist/business partner and admits to going out in public disguised as an old person that’s kind of irrespirable.

He’s good on Twitter, too.

Anyway, his debut album, ‘Jumping The Shark’, is out on 19 August via Secretly Canadian and here’s the latest track to be taken from it. It’s called ‘The Comeback’ and features Alex Cameron doing his thing live in front of an empty theatre.

After playing with Mac DeMarco and Unknown Mortal Orchestra last month, he’s also announced some new UK live shows.
