A recently launched feature where we hand over the playlist keys to the people who we think are good.

This is week four of our series of guest playlists from the super indie labels doing good things.

After recent guest mixes from London’s Tough Love, California’s Burger Records and Sheffield’s Tye Die Tapes, it’s the turn of Melodic.

The label started in 1999. As of 2015 they’ve put out more than 100 releases that they say reflect their diverse personal tastes. That’s true, there’s not just one sound associated with Melodic.

“You’ll find everything on the label, from ambient textures and modular jams (L.Pierre, Howes), Scottish kraut-pop (Man of Moon), organic folktronica (Minotaur Shock/ Pedro), stellar British indie (The Drink / Working For A Nuclear Free City), US chamber folk (Dark Dark Dark) and everything and anything in between,” says label manager Andy Moss.

The following playlist is a flavour of the stuff they’ve been listening to recently, including a track from Moss’s own new music project Boredom. If you like what you hear, check out more from Melodic.
