Our series where we hand over the playlist keys to the people who we think are good.

The latest guest playlist in our Mates with Taste series comes from London’s Dirty Bingo Records.

Founders Sacha Shaikh and Ian Roebuck started out putting on shows and clubnights 10 years ago. They were pretty good at it, but when they wanted a new challenge then moved onto putting out records in 2011.

Since then they’ve pressed limited vinyl from Clout!, Novella, Woman’s Hour and many others.

Here’s a few words from them about their selections, which they’ve dedicated to the indie labels that have and do inspire them.

“This is what we listened to when we woke up this morning. Dirty Bingo Records has always been about making a connection with the fresh and now, from when we first heard Woman’s Hour (the band, not the BBC Radio 4 classic) to seeing Night Flowers for a first time on stage, we’re a label that loves being in the present.

We’ve gathered up a few tracks from our favourite current artists and stuck them in an order that makes some kind of sense to us. They just so happen to be on independent labels that we love and admire because when it comes down to it, we’re all doing it for a similar reason.”

Recent guest mixes in the Mates with Taste series have come from Margate’s PRAH, Bristol’s Rocket Recordings, Manchester’s Melodic, London’s Tough Love, California’s Burger Records and Sheffield’s Tye Die Tapes.
