'Roots And Echoes'
words by Lyndsey Morrison
Merseyside masters The Coral return with wall to wall, track to track perfection. The lads put this album (their fifth in as many years) together in Noel Gallagher’s studios, using all his ‘vintage’ equipment, which has surely contributed to what can only be described as ‘5 star’. Lead off single, ‘Who’s Gonna Find Me’, is a delicious starting point for the buffet of richness that this album is. Tasty with added extra spice, ‘Roots & Echoes’ will no doubt be 2007’s summer soundtrack, once the summer starts that is.

Let the face furniture of San Fran disco-er Mike Relm fool you. Forget that he’s named his second album after his eyewear.
Vivian Girls - Vivian Girls
One of Vivian Girls is called Kickball Katy. She plays bass even more nonchalantly than your average Valium-scoffing four-stringer.
Plastic Passion - Contrived Imagery
They're saying that punk's dead, y'know? Spiritually, if not physically.
Wetdog - Enterprise Reversal
Had ‘Enterprise Reversal’ been a five track EP of a release its toneless blahs from lead shouter Rivka Gillieron would have still been a struggle to sit through.
