The Cold Nose
words by Chris Ebbs
Where to start with this tasty debut offering? Maybe the fact that this album is as cut and paste as the songs within it. From acoustic Kings Of Convenience alike melodies to a sudden turn into beats and samples, which even border on Hip-Hop on more than one occasion. Eclectic doesn’t even begin to describe this album. And so why will you fall in love with it? Well, firstly you will be drawn into the heartfelt acoustic tracks then suddenly catapulted into a giant mix of fun, charming beats and samples. It’s like a cheery ‘Amnesiac’ period Radiohead, with Thom Yorke on happy tablets.

Mike Relm - Spectacles
Let the face furniture of San Fran disco-er Mike Relm fool you. Forget that he’s named his second album after his eyewear.
Vivian Girls - Vivian Girls
One of Vivian Girls is called Kickball Katy. She plays bass even more nonchalantly than your average Valium-scoffing four-stringer.
Plastic Passion - Contrived Imagery
They're saying that punk's dead, y'know? Spiritually, if not physically.
Wetdog - Enterprise Reversal
Had ‘Enterprise Reversal’ been a five track EP of a release its toneless blahs from lead shouter Rivka Gillieron would have still been a struggle to sit through.
