Young Galaxy
words by Danny Canter
With a self-titled debut album called ‘Young Galaxy’ it’s not surprising that this release is not just a little cosmic. Sharing the weightless psychedelia of Flaming Lips, Montreal’s Young Galaxy produce space rock that drifts around your bonce like Jupiter wooing Saturn, highly stoned on the finest moon-dust. Most music sounds life questioning and changing at four in the morning, shortly before the last party pill is necked, but ‘Young Galaxy’ is proof that there is something to be said for legal highs. At times, totally powerful.

Mike Relm - Spectacles
Let the face furniture of San Fran disco-er Mike Relm fool you. Forget that he’s named his second album after his eyewear.
Vivian Girls - Vivian Girls
One of Vivian Girls is called Kickball Katy. She plays bass even more nonchalantly than your average Valium-scoffing four-stringer.
Plastic Passion - Contrived Imagery
They're saying that punk's dead, y'know? Spiritually, if not physically.
Wetdog - Enterprise Reversal
Had ‘Enterprise Reversal’ been a five track EP of a release its toneless blahs from lead shouter Rivka Gillieron would have still been a struggle to sit through.
