9 Red Songs
words by Sam Little
Chris T-T is a political young so and so. So much so that he borders on the self-righteous. Dylan is clearly influential on this collection of provoking folk but ‘9 Red Songs’ has more of Billy Bragg about it than ‘Blonde On Blonde.’
Everything from class divide to fox hunting to terrorist bombings to the destruction of nature are talked down to us, although oddly T-T does note his LP’s weakness. Ask him and he’d undoubtedly remark that ‘Preaching To The Converted’ is a successfully poignant social comment. Instead, it ironically hits the nail on the head. We all know of the horrors in society. Let us decide whether to act or bury our heads.

Let the face furniture of San Fran disco-er Mike Relm fool you. Forget that he’s named his second album after his eyewear.
Vivian Girls - Vivian Girls
One of Vivian Girls is called Kickball Katy. She plays bass even more nonchalantly than your average Valium-scoffing four-stringer.

Had ‘Enterprise Reversal’ been a five track EP of a release its toneless blahs from lead shouter Rivka Gillieron would have still been a struggle to sit through.
