Destroy Rock’n’Roll
words by Stuart Stubbs

There is obviously not much to do on Mylo’s home island of Skye, apart from making commercially exquisite electronica that is.

If you missed ‘Destroy Rock ‘N’ Roll’ the first time around, it’s probably because you blinked. But you are not in the minority. The fact that Mylo’s debut is yet to land him the commercial chart success of Fat Boy Slim’s ‘You’ve Come A Long Way Baby’, earns it the right for a nasty and premature re-release more so than the remixes of ‘Doctor Pressure’ and ‘Destroy Rock n Roll’ clumsily lumped on the end.

It’s as if Mylo went to Ibiza and recorded half of ‘Destroy...’ in Cafe Del Mar, waves lapping gently against his decks and the other half in Manumission, having it underneath podium dancers.

It’s the best holiday record every written.

Mike Relm - Spectacles

Let the face furniture of San Fran disco-er Mike Relm fool you. Forget that he’s named his second album after his eyewear.

Vivian Girls

Vivian Girls - Vivian Girls

One of Vivian Girls is called Kickball Katy. She plays bass even more nonchalantly than your average Valium-scoffing four-stringer.

Plastic Passion - Contrived Imagery

They're saying that punk's dead, y'know? Spiritually, if not physically.

Wetdog - Enterprise Reversal

Had ‘Enterprise Reversal’ been a five track EP of a release its toneless blahs from lead shouter Rivka Gillieron would have still been a struggle to sit through.
