Stolen Recordings host art exhibition of artwork from band members

Indie troupes aren’t happy enough with writing and recording their own albums these days; they want to decorate them too…

… and to celebrate just how effective self-sufficient bands are Stolen Records are hosting an exhibition of artwork, promo material and merchandise designed by a host of musicians.

As a rare surviving record company that’s remained totally independent, it’s fitting that the same label that signed Let’s Wrestle, Screaming Tea Party (pictured) and Pete & The Pirates is curating this exhibition that celebrates the DIY ethic that is still found in alternative music, if you dig deep enough.

Paintings, photographs, drawings, flyers, posters, prints, fanzines, videos, books and flip-books, compact discs, vinyl records and t-shirts will present themselves haphazardly in Aquarium L-13 Gallery, for a week from July 3rd.

Those contributing their art include Foals, Wet Dog, Fanfarlo and aforementioned Stolen signings Let’s Wrestle, Screaming Tea Party and Pete & The Pirates.
