Fucked Up sign to Matador

Toronto experimental hardcore troupe sign to Matador for second album.

It may seem like Fucked Up have released a thousand or so limited and self-financed singles and EPs, probably because, since their formation in 2001, they nearly have. And now the same band that feature a skinhead bruiser on lead vocals called Concentration Camp have announced that the follow up to their 2006 debut album ‘Hidden World’ will be released worldwide via Matador Records on October 7th.

The record that guitarist 10,000 Marbles describes cryptically as being “basically about rebirth and the Sun. And lightning,” is to be entitled ‘The Chemistry Of Common Life’, featuring an extra track on the LP version.

The band’s signing to Matador comes after Vice Records released this year’s limited UK single, ‘Year of The Pig’: an epic, sprawling rock track that surpassed the 10-minute mark and made every label with ears try to sign the band.
