Listening Post

Glasgow’s Babe have reshuffled their sound and line-up to make something much darker – listen to ‘Bit Part’

It's from their second album planned for spring 2017

It’s been a couple of years of change for Glasgow outfit Babe.

Back in 2014, they released their debut album ‘Volery Flighty’ on Moshi Moshi.

Since then, in a bit of a line-up reshuffle, drummer John Baillie Jnr from Alarm Bells, Bossy Love and Dananananaykroyd has joined up with the group. He’s also produced their new material.

The new album is coming out in the spring but they’ve just shared this new track from it, ‘Bit Part’.

In this shadowy, electronic track, which features frontman Gerard Black’s haunting choirboy vocal hovering above a simmering backdrop that sounds almost Bristolian in its murkiness.
