The National, Big Red Machine’s Aaron Dessner – Episode 114

Because this is worth a special off-odd podcast episode

We interrupt the current period of downtime for Midnight Chats to deliver a special one-off bonus episode with Aaron Dessner.

Because as some of us made banana bread during quarantine… Aaron made the The GRAMMYs’ Album of the Year folklore with Taylor Swift – a fruitful new creative partnership that’s continued into 2021.

This week (27 August) Big Red Machine – his collaborative project with Bon Iver‘s Justin Vernon – will release their second album How Long Do You Think It’s Gonna Last?

Aaron spoke to me a few weeks back from his twin brother Bryce’s home in France: we talked about his close friendship with Vernon, the all round experience of working with Taylor Swift and The National’s first post-pandemic meet up.
