In November of last year we finally swallowed our pride and asked our readers for help in funding Loud And Quiet magazine. We’ve been overwhelmed by the response, and humbled to learn that, as difficult as it is to remain an independent music magazine in 2019, it is worth the slog, and there are music fans out there who appreciate journalism like ours, which strives to discover new music and give it the respect it deserves.
We set our price point as low as we possibly could (£3 per month) and appreciate those who have given it a go and continue to do so – receiving a copy of the magazine in the post each month, entry into our vinyl competition and our monthly subscriber playlist. What we didn’t account for was boring things like Paypal fees and increases in things like postage and packaging. So here’s what we need to do – increase our £3 per month subs model to £4 per month: still a pretty good deal, we hope you’d agree.
We’re not doing it straight away though – you have until June 14th to sneak under the wire and sign up for our £3 plan, which is what you’ll continue to pay for your copy for as long as you like. If you’re already a £3 subscriber, you’re all good – nothing will change for you.
We’re keeping our yearly subscriptions at £35 per year, which is charged in one whack, but – you know how this works – will save you money in the long run. Whether you sign up now for £3 or after the 14th for £4, remember, you can cancel at any time, so why not give it a go for a month or two.
The same will apply to our overseas subscriptions, which will also increase by £1 from the 14th.
