It was the best of times
Almost two years since it was first announced, the inaugural edition of London’s Wide Awake festival took place at the beginning of September. It was worth the wait: an event that not only brought together the cream of the UK’s emerging DIY talent, but also sought to do something different and more responsible with the festival format. You can read our review of the action that happened front of stage; meanwhile, photographer Ashley Bourne was backstage capturing a few fleeting moments with some of the artists – including IDLES, Black Midi (above), Goat Girl, Squid and others.
